Projects that matter
Work on security challenges for some of society’s most critical organizations. These are assignments where the stakes are real and your experience matters.

Security risks do not sit neatly within one function. They cut across technology, organizations, operations, and business.
That is why Vaern brings together specialists who can see the bigger picture and turn insight into action. As a security consultant, you will work on complex challenges for organizations where security has consequences far beyond the individual assignment.
You will join a strong professional community of senior specialists from some of the most demanding areas of security. You will work across disciplines with people who understand the realities of the work from firsthand experience — and who expect you to bring both your expertise and your judgment.
You will have the autonomy to take ownership of meaningful assignments, but you will not work in isolation. Sparring, mutual respect, and high professional standards are part of everyday life at Vaern. Different perspectives and experiences are not just welcomed; they make the work stronger.
Your development is driven by what you can do, what you contribute, and the responsibility you take on. That gives you room to deepen your specialization, broaden your perspective, and grow through the work itself.

We work with experienced specialists who have built their expertise through practice.
You have a strong track record in your field and experience with demanding security challenges, whether in compliance, security architecture, information security, endpoint security, data protection, risk management, tiering, or another specialist area.
But technical expertise alone is not enough.
You need to turn knowledge into action, exercise sound judgment, and work effectively across disciplines and organizational levels. Security is rarely just a technical challenge. It is also about people, collaboration, and creating progress when priorities and risks compete.
In short, we expect you to bring experience, stand behind your professional judgment, and challenge established thinking when the situation calls for it. You take responsibility beyond your own part of the assignment and contribute to a culture built on mutual respect and high standards.

Consultant perspective
“Being a consultant at Vaern requires both independence and the ability to collaborate. You need to take ownership of your own assignments and client relationships, while also contributing to a team where we help each other and share knowledge. You also need to think strategically and understand the client’s business. Security is not an end in itself. It has to support the organization’s core mission”
